On Tuesday, October 21, the Chipmunks will explore the world of color through the delightful book MARY WORE HER RED DRESS. This book introduces different colors worn by animals going to a birthday party. The colors are repeated in an easily remembered rhyme so the children can sing along to the book as it is read. After the story is over we will play many delightful games singing to this basic rhyme. The children will be offered the chance to make up their own game.
On Wednesday, October 22, the color theme will be reinforced through the book "CHARLIE NEEDS A CLOAK". This book is about a young shepherd who desperately needs a new cloak and how he makes one for himself by using nature around him starting with the wool of a sheep. To reinforce color and texture, the children will be given a bag filled with different types of materials and colors to feel. Circle will end with the song "Old MacDonald had a Farm".
