The Chipmunks had a fun time exploring the children's book THE LITTLE MOUSE, THE RED RIPE STRAWBERRY, AND THE BIG HUNGRY BEAR. This delightful story of the mouse's attempts to hide the delicious strawberry from the bear is not only entertaining but it clearly sends the message about the importance of sharing for the children. We have an over sized edition of the book so the size and the bright colors of the book also helped to capture the childrens attention.
Following the reading of the book, the children enjoyed a snack of fresh strawberries.
Finally the message and meaning of the book was explored one step more as the children colored paper strawberries and cut them in half. One half for themselves the other half for the bear?!

- My husband Kevin and I reside in Arlington with our son, Jim, graduate of Minuteman High and our daughter, Katie, presently a junoir at Minuteman. I have been in our Early Childhood program for 11 years. I guess you could say the Sullivans share a great love and respect for this school, no matter what program of interest you are in. Early Childhood is more than a job to me. It is an experience in itself. Each year is different, because each child is different. But the love for them remains the same.

- I live in Stoneham with my husband John. Our home is a converted barn and a great place to raise children. Our children, Lindsay, (married to Mike), Chris and Jeff played a lot of hide and seek here. They are now "adults" although I find as a parent you never quite think your kids are grown up. I taught as an aide, teacher, and director in a Head Start program for 5 years; worked at Medford High School as a teacher and director of a child care center for 6 years and now begin my 9th year at Minuteman. I am still amazed by children's curiosity, perserverance and laughter.
